Big Al & The Heavyweights

Big Al and the Heavyweights play Louisiana roots music that mixes blues, zydeco, funk, bayou soul and New Orleans R&B. New Orleans native drummer Al Lauro founded the band in 1996 as the Unknown Blues Band with Warren Haynes and Rick Gergen. The band records for VizzTone, and its 2025 album Blues Power is its eighth.
